when you haven’t eaten anything but dining hall food for a really long time and you take your first bite of a real meal
I think it’s odd that when presented with a group of faces, and asked which one is the most beautiful, we always select the one that is most average. We do this because it’s in our genetics to choose to reproduce with the individual with the most average genes. Someone who is striking, who is different, represents a genetic risk, a gamble. We’re brought up to believe that beauty is something special, something only a few possess, when in fact, beauty to us is just an average blending of every face imaginable, the common denominator, beauty isn’t special at all.
